International Survey Center
Academic, Non-Profit and Unbiased
Surveys and Statistical Analysis in Many Nations.
The International Survey Center conducts research on social, economic and political issues using survey data from large, representative national samples from many nations. Most of our work is addressed to sociologists, economists and political scientists; it is based on rigorous multivariate statistical methods and is regularly published in sociology’s leading academic journals. We also do commissioned surveys and reports. Much of our data is freely available.
International Survey Center principals are Professor Jonathan Kelley (ISC Director; Adjunct Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno and previously Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne and Senior Fellow at the Australian National University); Professor Krzyssztof Zagorski (Kozminski University, Warsaw; formerly at the University of Melbourne), and Dr Joanna Sikora (Australian National University).

What we study
Social and Political Attitudes
Much of the International Survey Center’s research focuses on understanding attitudes towards important social and political issues — from understanding the impact of inequality on well-being to theoretical models of the impact of discrimination in the labor market to exploring the implications of subjective class identification.
Attitudes towards Biotechnology
ISC has also worked extensively on attitudes towards biotechnology — especially focusing on attitudes towards embryonic stem cell, genetic engineering, organ transplants and more.
Scholarly Culture
What drives educational success has been a persistent focus of the International Survey Center’s work, with a long series of research projects focusing on the impact of books in the home on educational attainment and cross-national comparisons of scholarly culture as a driver of education.
